By decision of the Board of Trustees the scholarship named after Oleksandr Galkin in the first semester of the 2014/2015 academic year will be received by the students of the 4th and 5th year: Dmitry Semenov (1st degree), Andrei Demyanenko (2nd degree), Mikhail Lapin (3rd degree).
The scholarship is assigned to the best students of the national University of Food Technology (NUFT) within the framework of the Cooperation Agreement between PC UKRPLASTIC and NUFT which was concluded in 2013. The scholarship has І, ІІ and ІІІ degrees. It has been established for the students of full-time attendance of the National University of Food Technology. Candidates for the scholarship are the students of the faculties of engineering mechanics and packaging machinery, automation and computer systems. It is appointed for the term of an academic semester, based on the results of studies in a previous semester, for scientific achievements and a high educational score, and an active participation in scientific competitions, conferences and contests. A prerequisite to the receipt of a scholarship is also a positive conclusion about completing an on-the-job training program and participation in the activities of UKRPLASTIC.
Irina Mirochnik, Chairman of the Board of PC UKRPLASTIC, said that the company has had a strong and fruitful friendship with the university for many years. Oleksandr Galkin, a former Chairman of the Board and a majority shareholder of the company, was also a graduate of this university. "Oleksandr Galkin actively contributed to the professional and scientific training of personnel for the packaging industry of Ukraine, therefore we continue the tradition of supporting and encouraging talented students of NUPT, many of which have become the professional and intellectual core of UUKRPLASTIC," said Irina Mirochnik.
