UKRPLASTIC IS AWARDED FOR ENVIRONMENTAL AND ENERGY EFFICIENCY
April 2016

Following the results of the annual all-Ukrainian project "Ecology, Environment and Environmental Management in Ukraine", UKRPLASTIC was recognized as the best company in terms of introducing environmentally friendly, energy-efficient and resource-saving technologies.

At the awarding ceremony within the framework of the international environmental forum "Environment for Ukraine" UKRPLASTIC was thanked for the active position in environmental issues and the integration of the strategy of ecological economics in Ukraine. The forum organizers noted the company's system cooperation with public authorities and public organizations, scientific and business partners in solving environmental problems, ensuring environmental safety, and protecting health and life of the population, including the issues referring to the implementation of the Aarhus Convention.

For more than 20 years, the company has been implementing the concept of sustainable development, which combines social responsibility and environmental friendliness of doing business. UKRPLASTIC regularly confirms the conformity of its production and products to the requirements of international standards ISO 14001: 2004 (environment), ISO 22000: 2005 (food safety) and ISO 9001: 2008 (quality), BRC / IOP "Grade A", FDA. Only certified materials and raw materials are used in the production process. According to UBP (Umwelt belastungpunkt) criteria, which are used in the EU countries, UKRPLASTIC’s product is classified as "green", safe packaging being environmentally friendly at all stages of its life cycle. The company is moving beyond, improving the production process and implementing resource-saving technologies.

According to Irina Mirochnik, the Chairman of the Board of PC UKRPLASTIC, closed cycle economy is a stringent requirement of the European legislation and an integral part of business development. "By 2019, the European economy should function on the principle of complete recycling and closed loop. Europeans realized that clean environment costs much more than the most profitable but harmful industries. We are promoting the ecological principles of doing business in Ukraine, because some domestic producers do not yet understand that their business has no future without investments in environmental safety,” I. Mirochnik said.
