IMMER Ukrplastic successfully passed Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit (SMETA), which included Labour Standards, Health & Safety, Environment, and Business Ethics.
SMETA is one of the most widely used ethical audit formats in the world. SMETA is designed for suppliers to share one audit with multiple customers. This audit format is a collection of recommended practices in social responsibility, helping to conduct high-quality audits, which focus on all aspects of responsible business practices created on the Sedex Stakeholder Forum platform. Sedex, a nonprofit audit development organization, works with buyers and suppliers around the world to deliver improvements in responsible and ethical business practices in global supply chains.
Using SMETA on the Sedex platform gives advantages to both suppliers and customers. For suppliers, this is a reduction in the number of audits from customers and a demonstration of compliance with ethical and social norms through an open database of Sedex. For customers, it is an opportunity to more effectively organize their supply chain and reduce risks in the area of social responsibility and business sustainability, thereby reducing image and reputational risks. Companies in over 150 countries are Sedex members. Nearly 20,000 SMETA audits are uploaded onto the Sedex platform every year.
